As part TPPL’s annual charity support programme, this year we have donated to two incredible charities – Neuroendocrine Cancer and The BillyChip Foundaton; both of which have been nominated by our staff.
In addition, this year we are excited to announce that we are working collectively as a team to supplement the business donations, by carrying out an exercise challenge and fundraising through JustGiving.
From 1st September 2021 – 28th February 2022, fourteen of our passionate employees will be working collectively to cover 4008 miles through walking, cycling or jogging/running over a 6-month period. Given that we are all busy people in our daily work and personal lives, this challenge will be no mean feat throughout the long, dark and cold months of winter!
Our first selected charity – Neuroendocrine Cancer UK exists to address the unmet needs voiced by the Neuroendocrine Cancer community. They support all affected by Neuroendocrine Cancer, to help and inform patients and families from diagnosis, enabling access to the best care and treatment, whilst stimulating Neuroendocrine Cancer research, increasing national awareness and influencing improvements in outcomes. Our second nominated charity is The BillyChip Foundation, a unique safe and secure platform which allows the public to directly donate to rough sleepers without the fear of their donation being miss used for drugs or alcohol. The recipient can safely redeem a BillyChip in coffee shops and takeaways for food and drink. This platform was invented by Billy Abernethy-Hope, a twenty year old ambulance driver from Bristol. Sadly, Billy died before the scheme was launched by his family in his memory. Find out how to donate here
