Leeds City Council has just had its annual Charity Shoebox Appeal, where council staff are encouraged to fill shoeboxes with gifts. These gift boxes are then distributed to schools. They are passed along to students who may be in need.
Last year, TPPL were delighted to donate gifts to be shared with children as part of the appeal. We at TPPL believe that service to the public sector requires more than money, but also time and effort. It is essential to truly understand and give back to the communities we serve. That is why one of our regional Business Development Managers (BDMs), John Lomax, shared his time with the council. He is the regional BDM for the North of England and North Wales. He helped other fantastic volunteers in organising and delivering shoeboxes full of presents to schools in Central Leeds. John commented, “The most rewarding aspect was doing deliveries to schools and handing the boxes over to staff who decide which children to share them with. Really glad that I gave up my time for it.”
We are so fortunate to be working with our generous members who care for their community and are proud to be supporting such initiatives, especially during this Festive period when people need cheering up the most!
