Ford close Commercial Vehicle order bank

23 March 2022

Ford have announced that the order bank for all of their Commercial Vehicles, excluding E-Transit, has been closed with immediate effect starting 22nd March 2022. This temporary closure will enable Ford to review emerging supply and production challenges to ensure their lead time guidance is realistic.

Ford will continue to monitor the situation but intend to reopen the order banks from 1st May 2022. Dealers will still be able to take orders for E-Transit during this period of closure. Please note that the Transit and Tourneo Custom Plug in Hybrid (PHEV) order bank will not reopen as Ford will cease production of these variants from June 2022. All current sold orders will be built out.

The closure of Ford’s Commercial Vehicle order bank follows a number of unprecedented actions recently taken by motor vehicle manufacturers, to tackle ongoing supply issues affecting the motor industry. Brexit, Covid-19, rising material costs and shortages in addition to the global shortage of semi-conductors have adversely affected vehicle production globally the past 12 months, and further disruption to production is anticipated as a result of the conflict happening in Ukraine.
