Fleet Forum Scotland raised £1875 for chosen Scottish charities

7 October 2025

We recently held our regional Scottish Fleet Forum last 25th September at the Falkirk Football Stadium, hosted by Keith Sergison, our regional Business Development Manager (BDM) for Scotland and Northern Ireland.

The event focused on public sector fleet procurement trends, market updates, and encouraged networking sessions with suppliers through outdoor displays.

Correspondingly, the event was sponsored by four suppliers who presented their solutions to the audience and brought products for display. Additionally, twelve other suppliers displayed a range of vehicles and equipment for delegates to view and learn about.

To ensure that the event remained in line with our commitment to corporate social responsibility, suppliers attending the event were asked to make a small donation to either of two selected charities: Edinburgh Children’s Hospital Charity and the Falkirk Foundation.

The Edinburgh Children’s Hospital Charity believes that, “no child should face the hospital alone”. In 1980, Dr. Richard Burtles founded ‘The Friends of the Sick Kids’. Notable events include fundraising gigs by Nirvana in 1991, the 1994 merger, and funding significant medical equipment. In 2016, they rebranded to become the Edinburgh Children’s Hospital Charity. By 2021, they opened the Royal Hospital for Children and Young People in Edinburgh which funded £3.1m to support their integrated Art and Therapeutic Design Programme.

The Falkirk Foundation, established in 2010, is a registered charity and the official charity partner of Falkirk Football Club. The Foundation runs a wide range of initiatives aimed at improving physical and mental health, increasing access to education, and creating opportunities for personal growth through community sport. These include community football sessions for children and adults, girls’ and women’s teams. Moreover, this includes education and employability programmes for young people with additional support needs, and various health and wellbeing projects that promote physical activity, mental health awareness, and nutrition.

Through this event, we were able to raise £1875.00 in total. £1275.00 was donated to the Edinburgh Children’s Hospital Charity and £600 donated to the Falkirk Foundation.  TPPL contributed to the total with our own pledge to each charity. We could not have done this without the support and contribution of the suppliers who attended this event. Keith Sergison, BDM for Scotland and Northern Ireland shared his thoughts with us regarding this. He commented, “A big thank to our suppliers who attended our Falkirk Fleet Forum and generously donated to both the Edinburgh Children’s Hospital and the Falkirk Football Foundation two fantastic local charities. We really appreciate your continued support in our charitable endeavours. ” This truly shows the ‘PUBLIC’ aspect of public sector procurement.
